Stood for Local Elections 2008  — 2 months ago

Well I stood in the Local Elections of 2008 and came third out of fourth with the following results:

Labour: 979 Votes
Conservatives: 862 Votes
Liberal Democrats (Me): 502 Votes
UKIP: 413 Votes

I also hope to become a PPC for the next general election in my home constituency

I think I could make a difference and communicate the needs of constituents effectively. I think my skills as a teacher are transferable to the role and that the work done is fairly re numerated, unlike many other public servant jobs.

Dear Plako -  — 1 year ago

I think you’re crackers Mr Plakoon.
Presenthing the public service debate between collectivism and individualism as a no-brainer, as if you’d have to be stupid to disagre with you, is really very arrogant and highly ill-informed. In a European context, the British benefits system is relatively tight and very targeted. Here isn’t the place to argue at length about this and anyway you’re not likely to acheive this MP aim of yours by espouting the virtues of solidly rightwing policies that are out of step even with today’s Conservative Party.
Good luck with life Plako x.

“I know how to encourage the unemployed to work… let’s pay them lots of money for doing nothing!!!”
Now THAT’s an incentive to get a job!

Wishy-washy England  — 1 year ago

I live in England and am sick of the OTT political correctness and welfare state due to the Liberal rule of New Labour. Does anyone agree with me and want some sensible right-wing parties back in power?
