How I did it: Well my mother decided she wasn't paying a penny. I went one semester away and then i couldn't afford my 2nd so i came back to brooklyn. I decided to get a job and after a month of being unemployed, I got a job at DSW the shoe store. I'm living with my sister. Soon i decided to go to the art institute in manhattan and I got it. I got alot of loans but im glad im going back. I decide to use all the money my mom saved up to help wit my loans.I was stressed because my mother makes alot of money and the gov. don't care if your mother is supporting you or not. Therefore I have to pey almost full tutition of 53,000 (almost). However, I was approved for loans andI don't have to pay a penny out of pocket until i graduate.I'm glad because I'm doing everything myself. Even thou it is stressful. I hope my job don't affect my school activity because i need both. in the end it;s worth it Lessons & tips:

How I did it: I was in a starting-then-stopping rut. I kept getting something wrong with financial aid, and then just... backing away again. It doesn't help. You have to dive in there, and just DO IT! I went in to the actual community college of my choice, right in the middle of a semester. I TALKED to them. I told them what I wanted, why I wanted to go back to college. I WENT to the Advising Center. I WENT to the Financial Aid office. I just kept goin… Read how I did it…

How I did it: This can be exceptionally hard when you have little ones. The cost of daycare can be crippling. If your significant other is also going back to school, try to match your schedules so someone is always home. Ask nearby family if they can help out. How I did it: I knew I had to make myself open and receptive to school - that means getting rid of the other complications in life. It's hard to get rid of responsibilities but realizing that most of my responsibilities come from my own desire to 'have' helped a lot. Took the first step to going back to school. I need 2 more credits to get my BA, so talked with the college this week and figured out a way. I should have my degree by December, then I can apply for the Masters program I am looking for. Yeah!!!
Next step is to see if I can get my BA through Michigan State or if I will have to start again. Step by step.
I got my BA in criminal psych. I want to go to grad school to get my degree in marriage counseling I think. The thought scares me to death though. I still got a little time before it could happen. I need to focus on my son a little longer first.

I have been dropping in and out of college since I graduated high school. I was doing fine going one class at a time. Then people kept telling me to add more classes, which overwhelmed me so I dropped out again. I’d like to just go back to my usual one class, until maybe, perhaps someday, I might graduate from college :)

I am officially a student again. I just enrolled and registered and paid for one class for the summer semester!!!!!!! SO HAPPY. I’ve been thinking about doing this and talking about going back to college for so long… and now I’m doing it. I am going to figure out financial aid this summer… and take a full load this fall. I’m so excited. :D
I applied to Multnomah University out in Portland, OR!! I’m so excited! :)
I’ll be majoring in Bible Studies and Journalism. Hoorah!!!
I really need to motivate myself to go back. I keep telling myself i want to pay off some of my school loans i already have before i go back but i know if i dont go back soon it will only be harder later. i only have about 18 months left so what the hell am i doing??
