get a new pair of glasses.

A few months ago, my rambunctious puppy decided to have his way with my glasses. I was taking a nap on the couch, so I had removed them and placed them next to my head (I’m a side sleeper). Seemingly viewing this as a golden opportunity to experience some exciting new chewing materials, my dog jumped at the chance to horribly mangle the defenseless spectacles while I was out like a light.

He gnawed the plastic off where the frames bend to hook over my ear, so there were some truly frightening metal rods with sharp, stabbing ends completely exposed, until I covered each side with some heat shrink tubing to minimize painful shearing of my flesh. It’s still not the most comfortable thing ever, but my hair covers the (black) tubing (on dark purple frames) 95% of the time, which is good. Sadly, when I need to take my specs off and clean the lenses or whatever, it can be pretty embarrassing stuff.

It would be really awesome if I had enough money to get new glasses sometime in the near future. It can’t be a top financial priority right now, unfortunately, but I’m doing my best to be a trooper and just hang in there while waiting patiently. Will be doable soon enough, I hope.

Appointment rescheduled for 7/11 at 1:30 pm!

Having grown up with an optometrist dad, i quickly learned to make my own glasses. This has served me well as anytime i need a job, i can always find one making high-end custom glasses. I know way too much about it for my own good. If anyone has any questions about how to buy glasses, how to save money on them, please feel free to contact me.

I bought a pair of glasses online. They will be delivered in about 2 weeks. I count this goal done went I get them.

I was able to get a walk in appointment with an eye doctor. My eyesight wasn’t as bad that I thought it would be. I just have to wait until next paycheck to buy the glasses themselves.

The appointment was delayed do to a clash with a volleyball tournament, and I’m not sure when it will be rescheduled for.

I haven’t had insurance for the last four years. But finally, I qualified for insurance though my work. So need to make an appointment to check my eye appointment. I am pretty sure there’s going to be a big different in my vision.

The appointment has been made for the 18th of this month.

Next month, new specs!

I’m pretty much in need of a new pair of glasses as I got my old pair over three years ago and the paint has pretty much been scratched off and the part that goes behind my ears, which had originally been just brown is now streaked with white due to my bending it, I think.

Anyway, I’m pretty much due for a new pair although I just need to go to the optometrist which I’m not sure when will happen. I’m thinking sometime in the next few months and then I’ll have a new pair of glasses.

That will be nifty.
