get a new pair of glasses.

I had an appt. on Saturday morning. The doctor said my vision has not changed; actually one eye is better than it was! :-)

It took me about 45 minutes to pick the new pair out after the eye exam. I am pretty happy with my choice. I had a hard time deciding between two pairs, but I decided to live a little and go with the pair that is a little different (different to me). :); not going with the plain ones…I hope to pick them up before I go out of town! :)

I’m getting the eye examination. I went to the optical place by Ooba’s Mexican Grill. I have the frames picked out already! The very first pair the super-faboo saleswoman handed me were perfect; slightly funky, flattering and came in several colors so I am getting the “fun” red pair and also the slightly more serious gunmetal/pewter pair.

I totally forgot this was one of my things. I got a new pair of glasses when my vision insurance kicked in for my new job back in March :D

when I saw a woman wearing glasses who looked really great yet individual and funky. I was taking home food from this great Mexican grill so as she walked over to the salsa bar I went and asked her where she’d gotten them. Ha! Turned out she got them at the optical place about four doors down from the restaurant! Insurance covers 2 pairs every 2 years so I am overdue actually.

They’re russet red because apparently i can hold rich colours! I absolutely adore them, and they’re worth the money.

My old pair have been broken for months and i’ve been relying on my contacts for an awful lot of the time. I’ve been putting off going to the opticians and ive even had a few appointments booked but ive backed out like an hour before, because i have a really irrational fear of the opticians.

It’s like when someone’s afraid of the dentists. I get inside the waiting room and i get this sudden urge to cry and i’m nervous and jumpy and i just can’t sit still. It’s just the thought of being in the dark room with bright lights/dye/lenses etc. being poked in my eye that absolutely terrifies me.

Anyway, i finally managed to get myself through the door and get my eyes tested, about 6 months overdue, and ordered a new pair of glasses. I’m quite excited actually because they looked really nice and i want to show them off.

I ran my old ones over 2 years ago and havebeen very lazy about getting a new pair. Its beginning to make simple tasks frustrating because I cant see!

and this week, I’ll get the lenses!

Closer, closer…

I so need one right now. I keep messing up paper work and its getting me in a heap of trouble. I saw a nice Marc Jacobs and Prada glasses one day and I love it!
