She passsed away this past week…we will miss her very much.

which I would rather not write about, since the Web is actually a broadcast medium, and I’d like to keep that part private.

What I would like you to know is how amazing she is. She was born in Poland to a well-off Jewish family. She survived the concentration camps, met my father-in-law in Germany, broke up with him, went to America, bumped into him again in a dentist’s office in New York City, and that’s where they married.

They raised three sons on Staten Island, and when Marie was 38 years old, she decided she “needed her own money,” took the GED, learned to drive, finished college, and taught art therapy, primarily to the mentally ill.

So please send some good vibes/prayers/etc. to her today, as she needs it.
