so we’ve been at this forEVER and it might actually happen soon. after having house after house fall throw, never at our hands, we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. after having a house fail inspection and moving on we just had our offer accepted on another house that we have higher hopes of passing. hopefully all will go smoothly from here and we’ll be in our new house by the end of august :) i’ll keep you posted!
How to buy my first home
How I did it: I had a stable career and income for over a decade, finally built up enough confidence to acquire a mortgage. I looked at many homes for sale in areas I was interested in, and
narrowed the choices down to the ones that had good balance between
price, safety, commuting distance, comfort. Made several offers, and
finally one came through on a negotiated price.
There were many bumps on the road. I learned many lessons, had to hire a real estate attorney to review all the documents for me. It took many prayers and the help of God.

we’re back at it again with our lease up in 2 months. we got all the way to the inspection process on one house but it failed bad so we’re still looking. it’s more fun this time but i’m still sooooo ready to get settled in somewhere permanent and finally get my office i’ve been dreaming of! unfortunately it’s really hard to find something good in our super low price range… we shall see and i will keep you posted :)
propel_74 is up too late.
I have my house now. It is a 1955 Rambler. I love it.
madris333 is going to kick her ass into high gear.
i’m 19. i’m not quite focused on this gaol just yet. right now i’m trying to focus on my career. i want to finish spring semester in school and then go into the Navy.
I am looking to buy my 1st home now….at 23 years old, single mother, on my own…im kinda scared but i am so tired of renting and dealing with dead beet landloards.
Credit Crunch…it means there’s no more 95% mortgage these days!
It’s fine for me, because I personally believe in saving up a BIG sum as down payment to minimise the interest cost. Being thankful to everything I have – a job, a shelter and a tiny bit of saving! Working hard to save more and more….
I bought my first house just over a year ago, and its been my proudest moment so far because not only was I young (21) I also bought it on my own.
Money has been tight since but I’m not quite in poverty so so far no regrets. Especially because if I had waited until this year I would have probably being put off from doing it because of the economic climate at the moment.
I have a fixed mortgage which will hopefully work out well for me.

My first home!! WOW what a big responsibility it will be to own a home. I’m tired of renting, but i will love to own one. It may take me a year or two but it will happen…..
we got our mortgage approved, first time home buyers, looked for about 5 months and even put in an offer or two but everything fell through (to no fault of our own thank you very much) and eventually we just got sick of it all and stopped looking. we found a really nice apt and signed a lease for a year so we’ll start looking again then (need a break from it with all the stress it causes) so will have another update then :)
