I suppose that I agree with the ideals of the Libertarian party more than the ideals of any other parties. That being said, I no longer feel it necessary to identify with one political ‘party’ or ideology. I have my own beliefs, I am capable of thinking on my own, and I do not feel compelled to call myself a “Libertarian” (with a big L) any more than I would call myself a “Democrat” or a “Republican.” Crossing this one off the list.
How to continue to become a better Libertarian
How I did it: I ran for office a couple of times, state senator and state rep. I was somewhat active in the party. But I am not as much now. I am independent but ultimately feel the Libertarian philosophy is the closest to how I can describe myself.

I’ve been paying more attention to politics lately. I try to read the paper on a regular basis. Even though it is an activity that I don’t enjoy. The newspaper just pisses me off and makes me sad. I think I have come to identify myself as a Libertarian with anarchist tendancies. I’ve yet to do anything to necessiarly make myself a ‘better libertarian’ as far as taking action…sometimes it seems like there’s nothing I can do. I guess I’m taking baby steps by trying to stay informed at least.
As some may or may not know, I’ve been spending the past few months examining the Libertarian Party closely. I even went as far as to join it officially for the year. I figure I’ll use this year to get close to the political mechanism and see if it is worth my time.
My gut tells me that I’ll be better off applying libertarian thought to my voting practices than I’ll be trying to push for the party’s success. I seem to be more aligned with the Cato Institute than any other political party today.
Let us see…
