I’ve worked at several different hospitals in my life but Children’s medical center of Dallas has been the best experience byfar. Not only because of the excellent staff and resources, but playing a part in helping the sweet chldren feel better absolutely makes my day. Just knowing I had some hand in that process puts a smile on my face and lets me know I’m doing the right thing. Never in my life (especially when I tried out psychology) have I ever felt so “sure” about a career field. This is where I’m supposed to be—I just need to get there. 21 months ago

It’s always been a goal of mine to go to college. Unfortunately I put it off after high school and went straight to work for corporate america. I quickly realized that this sort of work isn’t fulfilling to me. I dream of making a difference and helping people in a way that counts, so nursing is a logical choice. I also have a passion for babies. This last semester I went back and took a couple classes at community college. I figured I could take 2-3 classes at a time and continue working at my cubicle job in the meantime. Just recently though my job announced that I was going to be laid off. This makes me realize just how important my goal of becoming a nurse is. I want a secure and rewarding career and now I’m even more determined to make this happen faster. I believe that this is the push I need to realize my dream even sooner. 3 years ago
