Well I kind of gave up on this one.
Maybe I’ll go back and finish this in a few months or so.
But between working and school, volunteering just seemed so… unimportant, almost. I still wanted some time to be a kid before I have to graduate and start a real job, anyways. And it was taking up my time.
Oh, well.
I think 50 hours was enough time.

Finished all my hours at the very end! Well, almost. Finished most of my hours and signed a few papers myself, but anyway, got everything in on time and validated so it’s all good.
This year, I really want to help out w/a mobile clinic, working on the legal side. I want to make it a regular thing too, like once a week. We’ll see how that works out.

yeah, I want to finish my volunteer hours also. I have been working on them for 4 saturdays now. I only go on saturday’s because it’s open the latest on that day until 2 p.m. and I have to do 24 hours of community hours of volunteer work.

OK. So Monday and Friday from 9 AM to 12 PM I’ll be working the call center at the blood donation place on campus. If I don’t miss any days, I’ll finish my volunteer requirement (30 hours for my scholarship) by the end of this quarter.

The girl hasn’t contacted me back yet, so I guess I’ll just call the blood center myself and then do the paperwork to log my hours after. It’s a bit of a pain, but I’d rather not wait on this too long. I’ll give myself a deadline to set up the volunteer schedule by next week, so that I can volunteer next Friday morning.
I also plan on volunteering to morale at our annual Dance Marathon fundarising event, and I need to register by Friday.

I was going to call this “finish my required community service hours,” but that sounds too much as if this was some court-mandated thing. Which it is not. It is a school scholarship-mandated thing. So there.
30 hours should be pretty easy. I’ve wanted to volunteer for a while now, and I finally contacted the people at the blood and platelets donation center and sent them my hours. Soon, I’ll be the overly cheery girl calling you* to ask for your blood. 3 hours Monday and Friday. So hopefully, I should be done by the beginning of March.
*Assuming you’re a UCLA student, staff or faculty member.
