Worth doing!
i absolutely love being a barista. it connects me with people and my coworkers are so much fun to be around. not to mention it gave me a new appreciation of espresso/coffee. my next goal is to become more knowledgeable about coffee in general!

i did this and it was fun. i got to know a lot about espresso drinks, which comes in handy when my mom asks me questions about her new espresso machine. the company i worked for was awful and i quit shortly after, but it’s another skill i can add to my collection!
Not worth it!
This was not something I ever really wanted to do, just something that I ended up having to do because I was trying to get a job in a bookstore. So I worked at two borders and two and a half Starbucks and I think if I ever did it again it would have to be an independent one.
I suppose it’s nice to have the skills, but still…
Not worth it!
well, its good to be able to make coffee but I though working as a barista was terribly stressful, wouldn’t wanna do it again
Worth doing!
I attended the ABC Barista Training in Portland last month. I highly recommend it if you are a beginner or novice at pulling shots / making drinks. It is a great scientific art that once explained and watched/critiqued I feel anyone can master with time. Pouring latte art however. That could take years to get the true depth of skill.
I wrote about my training in my blog .
