coffee is my life? 13 months ago

not exactly, but i love the stuff…from home roasted beans, occasionally drenched in dark chocolate, to a triple espresso and a fresh canolli at 2am in Manhattan…and all points in-between…i’m an addict. and i am known to use bad ground coffee from the grocery store with over-sweetened flavored creamers. i’m human

i absolutely love being a barista. it connects me with people and my coworkers are so much fun to be around. not to mention it gave me a new appreciation of espresso/coffee. my next goal is to become more knowledgeable about coffee in general!



well, it was never really a goal 3 years ago

This was not something I ever really wanted to do, just something that I ended up having to do because I was trying to get a job in a bookstore. So I worked at two borders and two and a half Starbucks and I think if I ever did it again it would have to be an independent one.

I suppose it’s nice to have the skills, but still…



ABC Barista Training 4 years ago

I attended the ABC Barista Training in Portland last month. I highly recommend it if you are a beginner or novice at pulling shots / making drinks. It is a great scientific art that once explained and watched/critiqued I feel anyone can master with time. Pouring latte art however. That could take years to get the true depth of skill.
