give people the benefit of the doubt

I think this goes along with not taking things so personally. And while I can give people the benefit of the doubt (maybe they are having a bad day), I think when someone is downright mean, they must not value the prospect of my friendship very much. While I can give them the benefit, I will also (most always) fiercely limit my contact with them. It never hurts to be nice.

Clearly folks out here need better role models. I arrived Oct’ 2004 in the nick of time (confidence meters still reading near 100%) and promptly discovered how much work it is to feed the ennui. Way too unrewarding, imo, considering it won’t even chip in on the rent or Cable Modem bill.

Fast Forward to a year later.

I like to take pride in being a sharer – I give and take in everything I do, but I think I’d like to give back the doubts and misgivings to their rightful owners. I’d like mine back, while we’re at it.
