How I did it: I read and applied the information gained from two books:
The first one is written by 2 scientists (Jeff S Volek PhD RD and Stephen D Phinney MD PhD), it is the clincher, that proves it all to be the healthiest way to eat - "The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living" - look for it online and buy it.
The second book is a great less technical book to motivate you and introduces other lifestyle considerations in addition to the eating. "The Primal Blueprint".
The the knowledge in these books has the power to change your life/health forever. That's a big statement, but if you are determined, then I recommend these above all else. Read how I did it… 4 weeks ago

Setting myself mini-goals to keep me on track. Going to focus on drinking more water, exercising 4-5x per week, seeing a personal trainer once a week, eating moderate carbs (no sugar in the form of chocolate, cake etc!, including incidental exercise in my everyday life e.g walking both ways to the train station (20 min each way) rather than catching the bus.
Reward for mini-goals = New dress with each 2.5kg lost!
Ultimate Reward = (TBC) when I hit GW415 months ago

At the start of December 2011 I began to employ a Personal Trainer. I get to go to his home gym two times a week for Resistance Training. I then keep active inbetween sessions. I have been doing this now for 4 weeks and have lost 3.5kgs.
I am heading in the right direction towards my 10kg loss! 17 months ago
