Earlier this week I had a phone interview with a church, which was the first time I had gotten that far in the process. Sadly I am almost certain that I blew any chances of being called as their pastor with the first question that they asked me. To sum it up from the questions that I got it appears that they expect the next pastor to turn around the declining church by going out and getting a lot of people saved from the damnation of hell so I can bring them back (or should I say bring them back with their wallets) into the Sunday services. Which is the complete opposite of the more gentle ministry style that I use. 6 months ago

At the moment 2 churches have expressed enough interest in me to request sample sermons, as I continue to watch the UCC job listings and submit my profile to church openings that come off as having potential. So please hope and pray with me that God will direct me to the right church were I can make a positive difference as their pastor. 15 months ago
