laziness or just can't finish what I start 4 months ago

My biggest problem, I think, is not being able to finish what I start. I have a strong tendency to begin something, get distracted or just plain give up, and not finish what I started. It’s big things. It’s small things.

For example, just the other day I went to the pet store and bought a big bag of dog food. I lugged it into the house and opened it to fill up the dog food bowl. I took the rest of the bag downstairs to put into a storage bin. But I never put it in the bin. I just left the bag by the bin. What’s up with that. I went through all those steps and never completed the task. I know it’s something small, but why didn’t I just finish what I was doing?

Part of it is laziness.
Part of it is distraction.

I tend to put things off saying to myself “I’ll just get to it later”. But later either never comes, or comes when my wife nags me for the 10th time to get it done.

The best example I can give is this: I started to read the book “Getting Things Done”, but I stopped reading after the 25th page.

I bring my lemonade on the bottle from the firnge and out it next to the sofa so I dont have to get up to refill my drink.

I’m thinking that if I do this, the others will all kind of fall into place. School, work, getting up early, a lot of what I think is holding me back is just that I’m lazy sometimes. I miss class. I hold myself back in lots of ways. Sounds easy. Maybe now it will be. I need to take matters into my own hands and just do it. Everything I do, just do it. No hesitations, no excuses, just do it. So Lazyness will be gone soon. Yes.

This might be something that sounds simple to change but for me it’s not and I have been fighting it for years! I don’t want to be lazy but it’s more about me being TIRED all the time. After awhile I thought maybe me being tired was a medical condition or I had low iron. I went to the doctor and she checked me out and told me I was fine and healthy.
After that I was reading in a book that if you start to be lazy and less active your body gets used to that so when you try and start being active again your body resists because it is not used to it. This is something I am going to have to work on one step at a time.

I am so lazy. I have no motivation to do anything. There are empty microwave dinner dishes all around my room and I haven’t worn my retainers in like six months because I’m too lazy to put them in before bed. Also, I got so lazy that having to take birth control once a day everyday just got to be too overwelming so I stopped taking them :[ How do people actually find the motivation to get up and get stuff done when there is so much good stuff to sit around and read/play/watch?

I’m doing good with this. I’m pretty active. I’m always checking out different parts of the city and trying to get my hands dirty in new things. Now that I have this jobby job, I take my free time really seriously and try to pack as much fun stuff in as possible. The only real thing I would say I need to work on in this department is to make sure to wake up on time and not ignore my alarm like a million times. I’m pretty good at that.

Ive been going to the gym, working out, doing more outdoors stuff etc, not as bad as i thought.

I should of written an entry about this yesterday, but I was impressed with my progress on Sunday, I woke up early and accomplished an awful lot. I decided to just get up and do things and it worked.
