How I did it: Flew into Lukla... 5 days up, 2 days down... A really nice hike, not too strenuous - though keep off the 'glacial detours' for a gentle walk. Went at the end of the hiking season - start of the monsoon and was stranded in Lukla (no atms!) for 4 days at the end of the trek. Carried all our own gear and maps and stayed in guest houses all the way up. Very well marked track.

My cousin, a real adventurer, did this many years ago on her own.
I would like to visit Everest Base Camp as either the beginning or ending of a Nepal Himalayan trek.

Did this. it was my first trip alone. decided to do it in july and was there in oct. it was the hardest thing i had ever done in my life at that point and it was amazing….....

I’d love to visit the area and take the Trek which runs near to Base Camp so you get an awesome view of the mountain. One day we’ll go trekking. I think it’ll have to wait until after Australia and South America though.
