one more thing 1 month ago

We have only one more thing to sell! We’re just waiting until it’s closer to Christmas, because I think the item will sell better then. Plus it will take a large flat box and I hope something we order off Amazon will come in an appropriate box, saving me effort there.

Meanwhile, S checked our PayPal account the other day and we have over $500 in there! Woohoo! We’ll have to think about what to spend that on. Home improvement of some kind, probably.

35 out of 36 listed! 6 months ago

S got a bee in his bonnet :) and listed 36 things I’d set aside to list on eBay, and the auctions ended yesterday and the day before. Out of the 36 he listed, 35 sold, for a total of $301.85. That’s $300 bucks we didn’t have a week ago, and 35 small boxes that will soon be gone from our house. Just as soon as I prep them all for mailing and take them to the post office!

I’m not yet marking this goal as done, because once these things are gone, we have a few other things we want to list. But I’m really, really happy to have finally moved on these items!

also Craig's List 6 months ago

Yesterday S decided to just plow through and list a whole bunch of stuff on eBay, so he did. Maybe about half the things we’d had set aside. One already has a bid! I look forward to things going out of my home.

He also put a few larger items on Craig’s List. One has a probable taker already.

And he called around to used sporting goods stores. One said they’ll take skates any time of year as long as they’re hockey skates. I think we have 2 pairs of E’s outgrown hockey skates. Plus two or three pairs of soccer cleats, though S didn’t ask them about those. Fingers crossed!

We listed 2 things a few weeks ago and they didn’t sell. We relisted them last week, and the auctions ended yesterday and they still didn’t sell. I hate wasted effort.

We’ll try other items I guess, and get back to these later. People probably aren’t buying much now after the holidays, with the economy bad, etc. But don’t they realize I want these boxes out of my house?!

    phooey! 22 months ago

We had 2 items listed that didn’t sell. Darn it! I hate the waste of effort as much as anything else. And I want these boxes out of my house.

I think we’ll try some different items and then try these specific ones again at a lower price. Any money we make is good, and I just want them to be with someone else, someone who actually wants them.

S listed 2 more things 22 months ago

And I spent some time today finding mailing boxes for those two things and for the other things that are waiting on the dining room table. Many of the items were stored in gift boxes not sturdy enough to mail, so this was a necessary step.

we sold something! 22 months ago

Only for the minimum price, but that’s OK with me. Since they’re collectibles, I like to know they’re going to someone who actually wants them, and not being overlooked/unrecognized at a donation center.

I’m hoping S will list something else tonight, or maybe even multiple things. I want that pile of boxes gone!

    next step 23 months ago

I mentioned this under “declutter.” I need to prod S to list things. That’s his part of the ebay project.

I hate nagging. I hate it. I hope he’s feeling as open to making progress on this project as I think he is.
