read all the Newberry Award Winners

last month i decided that my child and i are going to read all the newberrys. so far i’ve read 2-looking over the list i discoveredi read several-but that was years ago and wouldn’t be fair to my child.

I printed a list of all the winners and took a trip to Half Price Books. I found a bunch on the list and a great number of Caldecott winners, too. Right now, I’m working on A Wrinkle in Time. I’ve already read it, but that was in the 3rd grade. Figured I’d give it another go, this time reading it with a couple students. It’s not really a step towards fulfilling my goal, but it’s great fun!

I’ve read 64 now and only need to buy :

daniel boone,

waterless mountain,

the dark frigate,

and this years winner.

On my vacation I found 4 more used and cheap. Now I just have to get on reading them.

alright I counted and I own 75 of them. I have read only 60 of them. Still need to buy this year:
the grey king,

the slave dancer,

shadow of a bull,

daniel boone,

thimble summer,

waterless mountain,

shen of teh sea,

the dark frigate,

and the voyages of doctor dolittle.

I own all but eleven of these. I think I’ve now read about 50.
