I was hand picked by a knitting organization to receive 15 pounds of yarn. All the yarn will be turned into hats, sweaters, mittens and blankets for children in need of warm clothing.

How I did it: I've been more involved in charity work this past month. So far in March I participated in Deaf organizations projects, Down syndrome and children's cancer charity events. It started as signing up for simple school fundraisers to an endearing habit. Being able to help others makes my life have an actual meaning.Hopefully next week I'll be contributing to the children's orphanage and working with Spina Bifida patients, I can't wait. Trish, Therese, and I went to the Bishop of Oakland’s office today and volunteered there. Trish had to take a class so Therese and I filled, closed, and addressed at least 100. Then made book marks for the students. I’m so sad because I found out today that Trish’s visa expired and she has to go back to Canada!
I also fell asleep in church. Sorry! I had about 2 and a half hours of sleep. I never even went to church but they are both very religious.

I’ve started volunteering once a week at a runaway shelter and it has made me so happy to help. I want to do this once a week for three months before I say I have done this. Two weeks have past and I want to do more.

My volunteering has continued to increase. I still am working with the coalition. Recently I volunteered much of my Friday plus some of my Saturday to Relay for Life. I also will help with random other charities for moments at a time. There’s a bike trail organization I just joined to to help maintain.
I don’t want to overdo it to the point it no longer is enjoyable, but I do feel more fulfilled in life by putting myself out there.

I am studying and learning about this Coalition… I have started the photography work and am quite excited. I may even at some point get to write for them. I love the idea of that! What I learned in one day has changed my perception entirely on some laws. I think a bit more time and I can check this off as a completed goal.

Ok I volunteered, but there was a process in place. I had to be accepted first. The first phase is done, my photography work was approved. Now for the other formalities! I am really excited about doing something good with a skill I am decent with.
I am currently training to run a 10km and half-marathon next year to raise money for my localmental health charity and the Alzheimers Research Trust. I am adamant I will see this through, and hopefully I will do more charity fundraising as a result.

I just volunteered for a homless shelter doing some photography for them. getting to do something I love and for a good cause. Does life get better?
A typhoon recently swept into our province. It really got everyone helping: sacks of stuff being transported, people allowed to sleep and stay for a while in schools. But here’s hoping that people not wait anymore for big calamities to get things happening.
