sort77 there is only now
I’ve been checking in with the food recall and found out that some of the hills prescription diet (same persription brand my animals are on) has been compromised. Fortunately NOT my cats and dog’s perscription in particular but another of thier products. I though for sure I was safe having dry food that I got from the vet. Luckily My animals foods has corn glutton NOT wheat glutton.
Regardless I’ve was a bit worried and looked for advise on finding a new food. In my research I found that my dogs food contains something called Ethoxyquine. Its a pesticide that is used as a preservative. WHY this is used as a preserve I dont know. Regardless My dog has all the symptom of poisoning from this stuff. Shes got a delicate gut as it is but knowing now goes a long way to explain the skin problems and itching she has been having. I thought I was ok having perscription food but apparently not. I just wanted to pass this along because this stuff can cause kidney failure, liver cancer and thyroid problems. Check your dog food. I put my pooch on chicken and rice as of last night. From what I’m reading it takes about 4 months for this stuff to get out of their system. I started today.
