I have no willing participants so I guess I will have to resort to a manequin. My hubby likes his braids nice and tight so I can’t “practice” on him…lol!

How I did it: I watched a couple of youtube clips demonstrating french braiding. Simply do a search for french braiding. The clips I watched showed how to braid along with verbal commentry. Once I saw how it is done, It was just a matter of having a go. I practiced on my very willing and cooperative 4 year old daughter, much to her delight when i produced 2 pigtail braids that stayed in All day! I can do simple braids, but nothing too technical! lol I have a 9 (almost 10) yr old son (who doesn’t need braids) but, then I have a 5 yr old daughter and I keep her hair done everyday!!! She’s had her entire head braided twice, and it looked so cute on her. I can braid if the hair is already pulled up in a rubberband, I just can’t cornrow at all….it looks loose whenever I’ve tried and as picky as I am, I will NOT let her wear her hair lookin like that!! LOL Please help me learn how to do this!!!!

I never thought about this as a goal, because I learned when I was little, but I know people now who don’t know how to braid their hair so I do it and/or teach them.. I never realized how valuable it is! I used to braid my hair all the time, before I shaved it. French braids usually. But I braid inside out.. :-) Makes it look cool though!

A very excellent website www.hairbraider.info , a website teaching people like you how to braid hair the safe and easy way . Styles include cornrow braids, sew-in, micros, slip knot technique, weaves, wig making and more. The dvd’s are easy to learn from and very inexpensive. 5 stars

For some reason I know how to do this? Must of picked it up on the play ground when I was younger…probably so I could touch my friends hair ;>

I’ve been braiding for over 20 years, and I also teach it online. I have free instructions fo cornrows on my sites, but since there are people here who want to learn, I’ll post the image file of the basics here too.
