How to travel to Japan

How I did it: I'd been wanting to go forever, and finally had enough money to do it. It's completely worth it if you already have a love and appreciation of Japanese culture; if you don't, you may find Japan to be a very alien country. Lessons & tips: The country at first seems very cold and impersonal, but it grows on you quickly-- it is wonderfully, fiercely beautiful, ancient in a way that few other places in the world can claim. You may have week-old apartment structures next to stone altars that have stood for thousands of years. And you will see very few other non-Asian tourists around if you are not in Tokyo or Kyoto. Resources: American Airlines and a phrasebook I picked up at Barnes & Nobles for $10. (Oh! Learn some simple phrases, like 'thank you' and 'I would like ____' and 'Sorry.' They will come in handy very quickly if you go somewhere where English is not readily spoken, although most Japanese are very happy to communicate via notepad doodles or hand signals!) |

How I did it: I was honored to be invited to a friend's wedding in Japan and made plans to go. Like the title I really do. Since I was born in Japan, I miss it and I want to see an old friend. Japan is fun because there are so many places to explore. Japan, to me, is the best place I know besides Hawaii, America, and Mexico. Traveling to Japan would be the best thing ever. I can’t wait until I go to Japan.
When to go?

I hate heat so I don’t think planning a trip in the summer is a good idea. I live in Hawaii and have no winter clothes, so winter might be a bit more expensive just for purchasing new clothes. So…spring or fall?
I think a trip to Japan probably can’t happen until 2011, but I’m dreaming for now.

I am very excited! I am going to Japan in 1 1/2 months. I will be seeing friends that I have not seen in over 18 years and attending a Japanese wedding! So cool!

Japan has a very interesting culture. I like watching anime so going there would be like going to the place where anime was created! I think that japanese drama is very fun to watch.

I have been researching into the cost of flights!
I really want to visit Japan sooner rather than later… I originally thought that it wouldn’t be until about 2-3 years.
But it seems my saving is going better than i thought and i think me and my boyfriend will be going to Japan for 6-8 weeks between July, August and September of 2009.
I have some questions for you lot!!
what are the best websites for booking tickets from England to Tokyo?
what are the best cities and places to visit beside Tokyo and Kyoto?
do you guys have any other tips?

I am currently saving up to travel to Japan and stay there for at least 6weeks if not 8weeks.
I want to travel to the beautiful and the bold.
I also want to learn Japanese to help me to communicate.
I want to have achieved this goal within 2-3years.
