endlessscott is starting to feel sick...
Who knows, one day I’d like to play music in front of people. I don’t care what hte songs are, what the crowd is, I’d just lik eto perform, even as part of a huge ensemble.

acdchris How's it going toots?
A’ight, we’re playing at a benefit Battle of the Bands for the Red Cross. We know the people setting up the concert, and as long as we don’t mess up we got ourselves a gig.
So im lead Guitarist of a Christian/Screamo/Hardcore band called All the Above (Click here for site). Weve been together sense Novemberish and we have like 6 songs. They really good. We sound amazing. But our problem is finding our first gig! We just cant seem to find someone that wants a first-timer band to play there show.
I need some suggestions.
Please help???
After things falling through (repeatedly!), I finally played my first gig. My sister and I played a 20 minute set of our songs at a party a bit over a week ago. It was scary and awesome and I am already thinking about doing it again.
And everybody seemed to have a great time listening to us. Always a plus.
Woot!
So I play drums in a band (yay, girl drummer!!). And we’ve been going about six months.
Sure, we’ve been offered gigs.
But we’re lazy and can’t be assed, tbh.
So methinks it’s time to play one.
If you can get out there and play a gig, DO IT, nothing like seeing people dancing and having a good time to things you are doing with your fingers!
My friends and I all play in a small band for fun. We haven’t prqacticed in a while, and we only have old basement reordings, but we aren’t too bad.

Man, we need to get some of our better and newer stuff up, btu thats us.
I am a part-time professional musician, I play a few gigs a month. It is rewarding for many reasons. I don’t go to bars much otherwise, so I meet people very different from my daytime life.
Also, I like doing things (as opposed to sitting around), so it is a more active way to experience the scene.
Finally, music is very absorbing.
The tough part is not doing the gig, it’s getting the gig.

Years ago my friend John and I started a band with the express goal of playing at least one gig. Then he moved and we went on permanent hiatus.
He is going to be back in town visiting sometime during Summer or Fall and he agreed to play a gig while he is here. True, it is just going to be at a party that will be planned to coincide with his visit. Still, it will be live and in front of a dozen or so people.
So now I have a bunch of writing and practicing to do. And getting over the nervousness that I feel when I play in front of people.
I am really excited. This feels light a turning point in my musical life.
