How I did it: Oh closet. How you annoyed me for many moons. But I finally realized your power. I had way too many clothes. Unfortunately, California does not have those big closets I'm used to. So thankfully - I tackled the t-shirts first.I folded everything and put it on the bed. Then I thought about how I wanted to organize it based off of what I saw on the bed.I also took a suitcase and used it to store all of the… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I got these hangers from QVC.com that were these velvet thin organizing hangers... I had to order 350... It was worth it.. Makes it so much easier.. I could just put my outfits together Read how I did it…

How I did it: I had a shelf in my closet that was taking up a lot of room and it always felt like my clothes were stuffed! I constantly tried to organize it, but then it would feel stuffy again. Like if I just put ONE thing out of place, I'd feel congested.I removed the shelf, got rid of some clothes. I got some bins that would slide under the hanging clothes and I got a clothes rack in my room to put my dresses.I LOVE IT! So much room! I can see ALL o… Read how I did it…

How I did it: I did this in a 2-part exercise, about 3/4 day each. Day 1 was boxing things up, buying boxes, identifying items to donate to charity. The second day was finishing up removing the stuff that didn't go to charity and re-arranging the closet. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I've had this goal for as long as I can remember really. Actually, I think this is included in the list of original goals that I had when I started here. I've been delaying this for as long as I can remember probably because I always thought that my ex would be there to organize my stuff for me forever.Stupid, I know. Then this weekend, I finally got sick of looking at all those clothes piled on top of my couch that I just started to do … Read how I did it…

it is BAD! I started pulling clothes out.
To donate: I bagged one bag of maternity clothes and one of baby girl’s too small clothes.
I started a pile of clothes that I can wear until I dig my skinny clothes out of the attic, to be hung up, currently hanging on the back of my rocker.
4 drawer dresser. 2 for each child, hope it’s enough. I have plenty of room for hanging stuff up too..need some more small hangers. My dresser is going to be a doozie. I don’t even know what all is in there but it is packed!
not technically the closet:Emptied the small book shelf to sort through and find important books, moved shelf to playroom for preschool books. Huge pile of books now on floor.
Sorting baby clothes by size.
Piles of clothing everywhere. The room is now off limits except for napping babies and sleeping. I need yellow crime scene tape.
Very little by little. Baby boy is too demanding to work in large blocks but I do what I can.
After it’s all done, of course, baby girl and I will need some new fall clothes! :) Motivation.
I just want to organize my closet so I can say I cleaned my whole room from top to bottom. It’s actually the cleanest part in my room. I know what you’re thinking. Everyone at school thinks I’m unusual too, so don’t worry, I’m used to it. I keep my clothes in my closet, so basically all I need to do is organize my clothes. You know, socks go here, pants go there. I’m going to save this for last since it’s going to be the easiest thing to do.
I dont know why, but I always forget to get these hangers that will solve the problem. I found these ulta thin velvet hangers from Costco that worked for the first half of my closet. I need the other 100 hangers and i’ll be done with this goal!

walk in closet. For the last part of my pregnancy I just wore clothes and baby girl’s clothing out of basket in the floor. Especially since my maternity wardrobe was limited anyway. then J decided to store one of his purchases, a full sized slate pool table in there so I simply could not get in there.
When he moved out I told him it really needed to go as I couldn’t access the baby’s clothes hanging in the back. There is still one large piece in there but I can get in there.
I currently have about 10 loads of clean clothing that needs sorting, hanging, folding as well as annoying toys that need to be bagged and donated. TONS of baby clothes that need put away.
All my skinny clothes are in the attic. Yikes. That’s what teenage sons are for I think.
the pinball machine he bought, I won’t use. I’ll tell him to take it to his house and get under my bed cleaned as well…same thing, unused toys and random books, etc.
Now that I can climb and manuever…

Once upon a time, I’d thought I’d take up spinning. I bought a fleece at a fair, which was a grand adventure a couple of summers ago. But now I know that spinning is not really “me,” so I am passing off to a friend this big box o’ fleece, and that clears out a couple of cubic feet of closet space.
Still much more clearing to do before I can organize.
But, new motivation: We are planning to get new carpeting for the bedroom, and before the carpet can be installed, EVERYTHING has to come out of the closets.

I bought a tackle box that lets you choose how big the compartments are and I put all my jewelry in there. Wow! So neat! But the box is kind of big. I need a convenient place to put it, so I’m probably going to set up a little shelf in my room and maybe put a mirror behind it.
I will start taking photos of this, btw.

I bought one of those over the door shoe organisers! So far so good! My shoes uesd to be on my floor! Now, i was forced to throw away (COUGH i mean DONATE… I’m going to give them to the thrift store). I still have some shoes that need a home, but now they can fit in their old home (on my closet shelf) :) My boots can be on display without beeing squished by flats and sneakers!

Okay, I am on my way to total organization! From hair products, skin products, clothes, shoes, jewelry and make up! :)

I took out all the clothes from my closet and decided what I wanted to keep and give/throw away! two garbage bags later and the job is done :)
