We averaged 3.5 miles a day for 8 days. That actually came out to a lot in the first four days, and less in the last four.
How I did it: Just everytime I was bored, instead of sitting around and watching a film, I decided to go for a long walk. Up hills and into town. Just walking everywhere. And I feel so much healthier now that I am walking everywhere again!

but I’ve found that my ordinary activity takes me to 1 mile or 1.5 miles a day. My goal is 2 miles a day, so if I could just walk around the neighborhood or something, I would be over that threshold.
Comic Con is next week, however, and I’m going early to San Diego and staying later, doing some sightseeing. Surely I’ll be walking an average of 4 miles a day or so. It will be a good week for walking.

which is frustrating. I lack energy. But still, I have plans to walk with a friend on Wednesday. I’m giving myself until then to recover. And if I don’t feel up to it, I’ll just have lunch with my friend.

and we walked more than 22 miles in the 4 days we were there, an average of about 5.5 miles a day!
My legs are really fatigued. I think I’ll take a day off.

I went to a convention in L.A. last weekend, and kept my pedometer close by. One thing that helped was that we were in a different hotel, one long block away from the venue.

Yesterday had some killer hills, too. My legs are tired today, so no 3-mile walks, but I will still probably do some walking in The City this afternoon.

I think that’s great! I define a “walk” as 2 or miles in a day. And I already have a walk scheduled for this afternoon.

because of the rain. I’m meeting a friend at Lafayette Reservoir today, though, and if we can’t walk - more rain is expected - we’ll have lunch instead.
