I was reading about it online and it turns out that both wheat and dairy correspond to opiate receptors in the brain—that is, they make your brain happy when you eat them, and you go through withdrawal when you don’t. I looked it up because I’ve only been without them for a little over a week and I’ve been having helacious headaches. Okay, maybe not helacious, but they seem worse when you can’t eat the food you want to eat also! I’m going to look into other ways to deal with my sensitivities than avoidance (healing my digestive system, etc.), because I doubt that this is going to last.
