A genius is an individual who successfully applies a previously unknown technique in the production of a work of art, science or calculation, or who masters and personalizes a known technique. A genius typically possesses great intelligence or remarkable abilities in a specific subject, or shows an exceptional natural capacity of intellect and/or ability, especially in the production of creative and original work, something that has never been seen or evaluated previously. Traits often associated with genius include strong individuality, imagination, uniqueness, and innovative drive[citation needed].

The term may be applied to someone who is considered gifted in many subjects¹ or in one subject.

Although the term “genius” is sometimes used to denote the possession of a superior talent in any field, e.g. a particular sport or statesmanship, it has traditionally been understood to denote an exceptional natural capacity of intellect and creative originality in areas of art, literature, philosophy, music, language (rapping, for example), science and mathematics.

Dear Everyone!

I need your help. I’m finishing my BSc in psychology this summer and my project description is a critical examination of genius and whether or not it is determined by the human cognition. Can anyone recommend litterature on a university level?

I’m pretty much smarter than all the other kids at school. Except my German friend Eric. Everyone gets Ds and Fs at school, while I get Cs or Bs, and my friend gets As (?!) However when I was two I have done an I.Q. test and my score was 124. Which is above average.

I once believed there was potential in my thoughts. At times…I would stay awake past the 24-hour mark, and reach a level of profundity in my mind. Great thoughts would come and go, tidbits of insight inspired me to record on paper but that passion has subsided, as my passion to be a genius. However, the thoughts remain but this time, instead of worrying about whether or not my thoughts are of genius’ standards…I’m going to keep them to myself and implement the idea, maybe I’ll invent something?

I wish i could be a top-notch intelligent person and help myself out of every muddle. Wish i could impress people, not depend on them everytime, think by myself and make my own decisions. And i know i can do it!

who knows maybe someday a bright light from the sky like the one that jhon travolta saw.. and the next day i will be a genius who has a super-intelligence…lol just dreaming and joking..
seriously, could peope develop their intelegence? so they could me more ntelligent? and can solve a lot of difficult things?
i wish there’s a way…
