Feeling good in action 3 years ago

Today I came back to this site after a long time because somebody had requested a comment (thank you brooke_lynne2000) and it did make me feel good to see that now 7 people had adopted this goal too. It is said that “People will forget what you do, People will forget what you say, but they will never forget the way you make them feel.” So making them feel good is likely to be an efficient way to make a difference in the world. I wish there were “how to” books about that. Have you heard of anything?

This is a hard thing to measure. But little things can mean a lot. Some possible, little ways to do this include:
> remembering people’s birthdays
> remembering people’s names
> surprising people with out-of-the-blue gifts
> responding to e-mail quickly
> sending handwritten letters and postcards to friends & strangers
> donating money to charity

more ideas on this topic? would be much appreciated.

Every so often someone will make ME feel good, about myself or my life or whatever, and I realize how important that is. It might even be a total stranger or whatever. That that is such a HUGE gift to give someone and I want to, as corny as it sounds, make the world or at least my little corner of it, a better place.

What if it was the only way to measure the difference you have made in the world today? I think it would be fab to be able to credit myself for having made pople laugh or feel excited or grateful; I guess it starts with making myself feel good… and so far it’s a steeply uphill battle! I’m willing to learn though.
