Phalene is always supposed to write an essay.
I actually took a class about this, but my cerification has lapsed. I’d like a refresher.

funki_sock_munki is trying to figure out life, the universe & everything
How I did it: We signed up through the local Red Cross for a half day class. It was only a half day, and the instructor was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. They give you a book and a reminder card so you can brush up on the skills after the class. It was kind of a goofy thing to do on a nice weekend, but worth it. Read how I did it…

I’d like to enrol in this two-day course via the Australian Red Blood Cross. It costs about $150-$200; a relatively small price to pay for knowledge so valuable. I just need to find a way to acquire the money first.
30 – 2 I know this but I also want to get into ems so I have to learn it.
I have to do this for my job which I am really glad for. I have wanted to be first aid certified for a long time and now I will stop putting it off.
legs11 has had a very emotional night and is nervous about tomorrow!
It’ll take 7 hours and will give me a basic understanding of emergency care, including:
Respond to the needs of unconscious casualties.
Includes placing an unconscious person in the recovery position.
Perform cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
Participants will be taught how to lift the chin to open the airway, give effective rescue breaths and perform chest compressions. All learners will be given the opportunity to practice their skills on a resuscitation manikin.
Choking
Participants will learn how to deal with mild and severe choking for adults.
Respond to the needs of casualties with major injuries
Participants will cover all of the following by observation:
- shock
- burns and scalds
- significant blood loss
- muscular and skeletal injury.
And then I’ll be certified for 3years :)
I’m gonna book it for like March time…

Just done this through work I have had to renew a few times and it has always fascinated me how the body works and all the warning signals it has when it#s in trouble fascinating stuff
I do the course again after every 3 years, to renew my skills and the certificate. I also teach first aid to kids, as a volunteer. Luckily I haven´t had to save somebody from death but I can imagine the feeling if I had to but I didn´t know how to do it…
