i shifted my plank style from elbows to hands, the static push-up position. it’s more relevant to my goals. i was doing it on my elbows, because that’s how i’d been taught, but this is waaay better. 4 months ago

I have a personal goal to do a 5 minute plank. Currently, I can barely do it for 2 minutes. Trying to work my way up to it! 12 months ago

Among climbers the plank position is popular for training abs. I can do some more than 1 minute now. So there’s a lot of work here :-) 16 months ago
How I did it: I heard this was one of the best ab (core) exercises one could do, so I added it to my 43 Things list. After my first trial run, I saw that someone else had given recommendations--I followed fazzaspeed's advice and did it in increments. Each time I decided to do it again (every couple of days or so, on average), I added 5 seconds to the previous time I had accomplished before. Read how I did it… 2 years ago

Felt I could have done longer – next goal will be 1:15 (nice, easy increments.) 20 months ago
Can easily do, say, 45 seconds, which is what I usually do in my class for a few sets.
But when asked to do this in hot yoga the other day, could BARELY make it through probably 10 seconds, shaking terribly, then had to bring knees down. Funny how the heat affects you.
If I remember tomorrow, will try and see if I’ve got a minute down pat. 20 months ago
