And called my dad’s parents today. They were so happy to hear my voice it made me feel guilty for not calling them sooner. It also makes me feel terrible to have to put them on my to-do list, but sometimes it really is difficult to talk to them. Popi can’t hear anything and Nana asks the same questions over and over again because she keeps forgetting. In any case, I’m glad I did it. I hope I made their cold, snowy day just a little bit brighter. :o)

My Grandpa on my mom’s side passed away 3 weeks ago. From today actually. I’m angry at myself for needing that to spur me to take action, especially since I live so far away from my family now. There is just no excuse NOT to keep in touch with all the ways we can communicate these days. I’ve been calling my Gramma a lot now since she’s been feeling lonely, but I need to initiate it a little more with my dad’s parents. At least I saw them all alive and well and happy during the holidays. I am so thankful for that. :)
