Today’s plan:
- follow up with various contractors, etc, who are dodging work to make necessary repairs that matter to my renters. Argh!
- getting bookkeeping and accounting stuff to new accountant since last one did such a crummy job and didn’t care or correct them when I asked about mistakes. Feel miserable in advance, as expecting more big bills for slow, shoddy work that doesn’t actually help me in any way but only makes it possible for me to file corporate and personal taxes and apply for financing for future mortgages, and it just seems to be an inevitable part of the accounting experience which I despise and loathe and continue to struggle with. The idea that the process these people use would actually help me strategically makes me almost puke with disgust. This has truly not been the case so far, and my business is not sufficiently successful to really support professional rates, so I pay for these high, high hourly rates from my low, low day job rates. I absolutely do not enjoy this and feel like I am just getting beaten up by schoolyard bullies who take my lunch money every time I go through this.
As usual, this new acct has been highly recommended by someone I trust
blech.
Yeah: this bill will likely be the equivalent of about one month of my day job salary. And I just found out that my day job is disappearing. Final day hasn’t been finalized, but it’s either next week or the end of the month from what I understand. So, these bills are brutal for me. It isn’t like I have taken a “vacation” or traveled for pleasure in, god, decades… or anything. We rent a modest place. I drive an old car. And I really hate what accountants and lawyers charge. 1 week ago
