find out how many licks it actually takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop

i did this one easter long ago.
i uncovered the whole thing in about 2500 licks. i used a calculator and after every lick i pressed +1=
took over an hour and my thongue was sore.

I did this one summer afternoon while I was in high school! I have forgotten how many licks it actually took but I was a fun afternoon!

I’ve done this dozens of times.

It has always taken between 487 and 529 for me, so around 500, but we had rules about how far we were allowed to put the pop into our mouths and how long it could stay there. It wasn’t all that soggy and gross, but we kind of made a little sport out of it.

It was fun, and well-recommended, especially for a small group of people with nothing else to do, like while waiting in an airport or a hospital lobby.

Oh well.

I’ve decided to do this the next time I go on a long car trip. I mean, what better thing is there to do?

I tried it once when I was really bored….it took me forever!!
What can I say? I have a small tongue.
