How I did it: I have been wanting to learn to snowboard for a long time but never really had the opportunity. One of my best friends had been asking me to go to this ski resort for years now and I finally made the time to go. Snowboarding was pretty easy. If you watch what everyone else is doing you will pretty much grasp the concept. The biggest thing is that you cant be scared. If you get scared you will be scared to stop because it requires you to e… Read how I did it…
so i went skiing once a week this past season, and actually tried boarding one of those weeks. It was painful, and the day we went was miserable and cold, so that just made the experience all that much more not-enjoyable. but i promise myself that i will be back up on the board next season for another shot. (i actually brought my skiis up with me that day and switched half way thru the day cuz i was so frusterated with myself.. maybe one of my 43 things should be “learn to have more patience with myself” haha)
My boyfriend took me snowboarding one weekend about a month ago. Within a few minutes I understood the concept of edges, within two hours I was linking turns!! By the end of next winter I’d love to be able to carve well and have the confidence to tackle Whistler ;) I want to make my boyfriend proud but most of all I want to feel the rush of having nothing but powder ahead of you and nothing but confidence to help you make that first turn!
I’ve got my board now, a Burton named “Kronk”. I can’t wait to take him for a ride ;)
Wandering_Virgo Oh SCHWEET
I live in the best state for snow adventures.. yet i have learned to snowboard. Makes me laugh since my boyfriend is an avid snowboarder and always asks me to come along. I say no cause i never have money

Something fun I can do with my partner and friends. Something to look forward to and something for excerise..
Going to do it at the snow dome £95 for a days training I CAN NOT WAIT!!!!
This was super fun.
I am still a terrible snow boarder but I had the best time falling over. I used a ski-lift for the first time ever. Looking down that hill and then gliding down that hill were huge adhrenilen rushes.
I will be trying again.

Well, since I’m going to be stationed at Ft. Lewis, WA I might as well take advantage of the bloody cold weather (I hate the cold) and learn how to snowboard. It’s something I’ve always wanted to try out.

A friend invited me to go snowboarding this weekend and I have accepted. It looks like this will be my first completed goal of 2009.
I don’t have this burning desire to become a professional or anything, but I want to at least try it once, to see if I like it. I live in Colorado, so there are plenty of great places to go, and I’m hoping maybe this winter…
