I’m trying to minimize the sheer amount of stuff around me, I have a giant box of CDs I want to turn to MP3s. I want to be more portable.
This is taking sooooo much longer than I thought. I’ve recently realized that I have almost double the number of CDs I thought I did.
It is giving me a chance to re-organize them (I’d just been sticking all recent purchases at the end, since I neglected to leave room in my alpha-by-artist system for new arrivals). I’m also pulling out all the DVDs that came with the CDs—most I’ve never watched.
I wrote a software myself to do this. And now I put the tool on the web. It’s an AD.
;)
And, once you’ve digitized your CDs (and backed them up), you can sell them back to get…more CDs! (Or, in my case, DVDs.)
Musicbrainz and Audioscrobbler helped me out a lot here.
Since I’m a bit of a geek, and I love RDF, they both facinated me :)
