How I did it: Jumped in, logged on to misspole.com, signed up, told my friends, found one who had always wanted to learn, too, and now go with her to class every week! It's AMAZING and we LOVE it. It's totally made us more confident and love ourselves more than we thought possible, Read how I did it…
How I did it: what happened to my body- in a good way! after just a few classes, i immediately saw improvements in my strength, coordination, and confident. i took classes about 3 times a week and tried to eat as healthy as possible (which is hard for me). just keep at it, and you'll improve so fast and see results withing weeks. How I did it: Paid for a course of 6 lessons, with a friend, and turned up. Oh the pain after my first lesson! But after that just fun and learning some great moves. You have to be a lot stonger than you think! Read how I did it…

I have my own pole but never took a lesson. I got to the point where I wanted to learn some more advanced moves, but couldn’t find a place that wasn’t sorely overpriced, nor expected me to start with “Level I” which I was way passed. I finally discovered a studio in Redwood City (after much research) and an instructor name Noelle who really inspired me. I am really strong, agile and fit as a result of my pole dance experience and highly recommend this form of artistic exercise/expression to anyone who is thinking about it. I also highly recommend the studio where I took classes which is a bit under the radar, so feel free to ask me about it.
kath14 Deciding what to do next
I took the first step toward this goal and I went down to the Art of the Catwalk and registered to take classes there. I am so excited since not only do they offer pole classes, but they have chair, strip cardio and burlesque. I can’t get all of my sexual dancing fantasies taken care of with one gym membership.
I want to be able to do this for my health, to be sexier and enjoy being the woman I am
stripping will def. not be in my future…BUT I did manage to have a fun time…I may have been more ridiculously funny than sexy when it came to “workin the pole” but I could laugh at myself (so did everybody else) and I think I was way over due for some good ol laughin…maybe not all of it was a total joke…might not be much of a pole dancer, but apparently my lap dance is something to be proud of ha!...guess my future guy will let me know, but until then I think I will stick to yoga and running.
a friend of mine just convinced me to do this with her tonight. hopefully I dont make a complete fool out of myself..and another thing…what the hell do you wear to something like this anyway lol?!
two friends who want to join me in my pole dancing quest! Wahay! I am still going to start in the new year as it is a bit pointless before christmas as I am going home from uni. But when I come back it’s full steam ahead! Woo woo! :D
...and preferably a friend who will go with me! I am going to have a look around for classes in the area after christmas! :)
It’s gymnastics and Chinese pole acrobatics for real women, not 95-pound 12 year olds. It’s quite a bit safer in general though still beautiful. My arms, abs and lats have gotten stronger since starting 6 months ago. Going upside-down is the most awesome feeling – what a challenge to hang there from your legs! Can’t wait to design my own routine after learning more fun tricks and twirls. When you can hold your entire body weight upside-down with just one leg, you feel pretty confident! That’s what it looks like, anyway; I’m still working toward that ;-). If anyone wants to take classes in the Bay Area, I can recommend the place I go to in Redwood City and let you know what to expect. I’ve been taking pole classes for 6 months there and Pilates for over a year from one of the owners.
Okay, I Celeste started pole dancing classes last week just before I got on the flight to Maui. The darn class completely kicked my ass! Yep, I was hurting for three days after- even the muscle in my hands hurt from grabbing the pole for dear life. However, I can do three moves on the pole and that was pretty cool. I will continue them when I get home, but man- am I out of shape!
