Actually, what I want may not technically be a “platform bed”, but simply a platform with a ROUND bed sitting on it. I’m going to use the plans below, and I’d like to at least cover with fabric a platform.
so yeah im moving to colorado to be a snowboard instructor. i dont really have money, and the money i DO have is going towards rent and gas to get myself out there… so i figured i could build a bed and use my friends old futon as a mattress.
Back in 1980 my friend Mike helped me build a loft bed.
We built a platform with plywood and 2×4’s, and set it up about 6 feet high. I think I remember one post was like the crossbar on a telephone pole… Where the old glass insulators were hung. I used to use that to hang up my shirts (7 flannel shirts to get me through the week).
I had a workshop bench underneath it, where I did my artwork for school and random electronics projects. And an easy chair. Smallest room I ever lived in, but one of the best for sure.
do anyone have the instuctions on building a king or qeen size platform bed?
Need step-by-step instructions for makinf a platform bed, queen size, thanks in advance for any help that can be provided, also a list of tools to do the job,
Thanks again,

I’ve found some plans that I like (and that I can follow), and I’ve priced out the materials. I’m still not absolutely certain I’m going to do this – I need to decide whether it’s really worth the money and effort – but I’m not ready to give up yet.
my room is very small, and a low bed would make it seem more spacious.
however, i love the height of my captain’s bed, and i’ve always wanted a loft bed, or even a bunk bed.
i think i could adjust to a low bed, but i have no idea where to store everything that’s currently underneath the bed or in the drawers.
one problem is, i like a high place in my room to leap onto when i get scared or for general security, and right now it’s my bed. i wouldn’t know what on earth to replace it with for that purpose.
I made mine out of 1×10 lumber, 2×4s & ply with a drill, tape & a cicular saw, materials cost under a $100 to make. Designed it as I was making it turned out very sturdy I over built it, will not tip over. I like the natural wood look but you could paint, stain or fabric the finish look. Three days to complete’ I could of done it in two but I took my time. Let me know if you need help thanks. brit8248@hotmail.com
