fire up the bbq

We enjoyed having lunch outside so much that we had a bbq for dinner (first one this year). Honey garlic chicken and hot dogs. Yum!! Next time we’ll invite some friends over to join us.

Ah, what a wonderful night! Sherry’s brother loves to catch fish, but hates to eat it, so she came over with a massive salmon he caught, cleaned, de-boned and then shunned.

Markus invited Bob over, we fired up the bbq & used Chloe’s divine recipe (with fresh oranges, soy sauce & maple syrup) with brown rice, corn & a salad with cuke, tomato, olives, sweet onions & almonds… it was absolutely fantastic.

Plus Bloody Marys (or decent red wine) + old friends & good conversation… it’s been a splendid little evening. Halfway through it started raining, but the food was great, the air was fresh, and the tiki lights shone wetly.

It was a case of bbq dominoes. After a somewhat stressful but gorgeous summery day, we were inspired by the neighbour borrowing our briquette fuel. Markus fired our bbq up too and we had a delicious bbq dinner with corn & mashed potatoes (and a couple of cold brews) on the side… MMMMmmmm good.
