How I did it: I found a class at the local YMCA and decided to participate. It was terrific! My teacher was so talented and the energy of the class was touching. It always brought a smile to my face and my abs began to carve themselves out. I will take another one in the future maybe a year from now. Meanwhile, I want to try other dance forms :) Read how I did it… 3 months ago

I was belly dancing yesterday but everything seemed to go more slowly than usual. So I looked on youtube and found a work out with this lady who said she was from the island. For the first time, I isolated my hips. She showed the viewer how to move in a way that I had always wanted to learn how to move and I felt I was actually achieving something! I think I will do her work out for a long while, it has the belly portion of belly dancing in it. 6 months ago

I practiced belly dancing yesterday. I know I will really need to take an actual class so I can be monitored by a professional. I am just doing basic moves on youtube…
I like the stretches, I cannot wait to get a toned stomach so I can see the movements of my abs better. MWAHAHAHAHA :D 6 months ago

I will not be able to practice EVERY night, however, I will practice until I have to go home for Thanksgiving. I am trying to get my body into shape for the figure modeling class. I am inspired by two belly dancers so far. One is Rachel Brice because she is like a serpent in a human. She can move so fluidly and snake-like, her flexibility is amazing. Her stage presence is awesome, it is so captivating. The second one is Sadie. She oozes with femininity. Her dance is like a blend of being a beautiful woman and being a seductress. It is kind of like water in the way that she moves. I will have to post images of both of them.
Belly dancing is a fun challenge. I think my muscles have to get used to the release of tension in certain places. When I practiced this head movement, there was this subtle popping in my neck. It was not painful, they were bones breaking. It was like oiling a rusty bike or so, I had to dust those muscles off. It was pretty relaxing. I can’t wait to try it again! :D 6 months ago
