and purchased ANOTHER African Violet…
I used to have tons of these as a child and I suppose I am regressing. but they are so interesting, and soft, and pretty. I would love to one day see them growing in the wild…if they ever really did. 4 years ago
are really great plants in hanging planters. They survived all the freeze of Easter weekend…and now are blooming vibrant red and yellow blooms. Glad I purchased them. All the others are also doing well…all except the double impatiens, I dropped and split the planter yesterday…must repot. 4 years ago
re-potting and caring for all my houseplants yesterday. I counted them, too… 17 houseplants. But that’s less than half, since I have some in AZ and some in Sweden. 4 years ago
not always hardy, but I’ve always had a knack for growing them, so I got one last week, its doing well. 4 years ago
So I got another hanging basket of Mimulus. I had never heard of these before…very cool. They really brighten things up. 4 years ago
but today I did purchase a hanging basket of double impatiens. They brighten upm the deck and I like the way they look like small roses…without thorns! 4 years ago

my dear neighbour brought me a viney house plant today to wish good surgery recovery. this was sooo sweet as she is the secretary at the surgeons office and only discovered we were neighbours when she read my address as she was checking me out. She also brought lasagne and salad…
but the plant is gorgeous! 4 years ago
i picked this up at target today when stocking up on froen food and motrin…
I don’t know if it will berry or not, but I like the shiny leaves. It cheered me temporarily. 4 years ago
Yesterday I found a website for making an upside down tomato (or any vine type plant) planter for inside the house out of a 2 litre soda bottle. I guess I could buy one, but the idea of trying to be mildly creative and making it appeals. (plus it is a bt of recycling which also appeals.)
I need a hot glue gun, and then I’ll be good to go. I’e got a few ideas for modifying the original plan so they can be a little bit more decorative… 5 years ago
now that I have a home with a “garden/greenhouse” window, my Mom suddenly said, oh hey, I know what to do for you for Christmas.
It’s perfect. I have been trying to find inexpensive things to ask my parents for since they have retired and are on a fixed income….and the trick has been to find things I really want, so for the holidays some houseplants should be entering my life….as well as the house. 5 years ago
several lush looking houseplants at sale at the Weaver St market…. WIll have to consider them. 5 years ago
no plants in the house. but my Geraniums Lobelia and Dhalia combo seem to be thriving outdoors. FUn to watch the Dahlia come up from the bulbs. 5 years ago
the houseplant I want on the street today, someone had put it out since its about to pour. I didn’t see the owner, but when I see her next time outside of her house, I’m going to definitely ask about it. 5 years ago
seems to want to sell any indoor plants at this particular juncture in time. What a bummer. I have a birthday coming up so maybe they can come as gifts, if someone is moving or has too many etc. T would like to get a few African Violets, as well as some plain green leafy things. Nothing fancy, and as noted before, no spider plants. 5 years ago
and I have none. As a child, I actually had about 20 African Violets. They did very well under a grow light with some care. Now, I want something nice, but that I just have to sun and water. No spider plants though. 5 years ago
