Walk to work (it takes me 15-20 min) instead of driving.
Applied for FSA today but the customer service shut down because of weather.
    Home prepared food.

Making it quantifiable... 18 months ago

I will declare myself financially capable once I figure out how to file taxes, pay off my loans, minimize credit card debt, have at least $10,000 in savings, open up some more investment accounts, and make a budget that I stick to.

    no joke.

I have everything written down and we are abiding by it (more or less).
I just need to enter in amounts/receipts daily so that I can keep better track of this.

    Consolidation... 2 years ago

Loan replaces various debt and we now live off only what we make…no more credit card!

This is still often tough for me... 2 years ago

Living as a single-income family is tough but for the time-being it’s what we’re dealing with.

I need to match the needs/wants with our income and really work to keep us on track.

I am fully focused on this... 2 years ago

I have a budget set up and I am logging everything into it.
I have established limits and have communicated them to the hubby for mutual agreement/acceptance.
    Here we go!

Being a stay-at-home Mom is tough sometimes... 2 years ago

The goal “manage money wisely” sounds so…I don’t know… like I’m some terrible person throwing my money around. That is not how it is.
I just want to learn to be even more thrifty (am I sounding like a grandmother??? who says thrifty???)
Anyway, you guys get the idea.

    On sale... 2 years ago

Bought a few new clothes for my eldest child last week and went back to the store to return some items that didn’t fit.

I noticed that all of the items that I bought last week were now on sale.

The customer service counter reimbursed me the difference since my purchase was within two weeks of the sale.

It wasn’t lots of money (only $14) but that’s a take-out medium pizza, I figure … it’s totally worth it.

I have definitely cut down on spending, or so it feels.

It feels awful when you have to use your tax return to pay off your credit card.

From now on it’s living on what we’ve got in the bank and that’s it!
