I got certified at Online First Aid and CPR Certification – http://firstaidcpronline.com and it was a good experience.

...I admit it. It used to be “Keep my CPR and first aid certification current.” The thing is, I still have the knowledge and the distributions from the class I took last year, and the only reason I’d need to remain certified is if I was trying to get a job that required up-to-date certification. I’m no longer certified in CPR, but my first aid certification is good for (I believe) three years total. I’ll probably go get re-certified in both when my first aid runs out. Until then, I at least know how to perform CPR.
I’m still certified for first aid, but no longer for CPR. It’s a big pain for me to take the class here in Portland, since I work weekends and go to school weekdays, and don’t have a vehicle. I’ll get it renewed this summer if I end up living at home. If not, plans will change. We’ll see.
Yes, it is bothersome to give up a Saturday once a year to take a boring class in a place that smells like a hospital, to watch disgusting videos of people hurting themselves and going nuts, and to arrange rides to and from the Portland Red Cross building if you don’t have a car.
However, it’s definitely a good thing to know how to perform basic rescue procedures, and I am resolved to keep up-to-date on my skills. Woohoo!
