not on Marathoning, or on Paris, but given my injury, I know I won’t be running a Marathon in April. I told my Physician and trainer and therapist I’d given up on this, and each one of them said resoundingly, “good” It’s not good to hold on to an unhealthy goal. I’m just going to rehab the leg properly and hope for some other things in the future…
he guys, need some help. have signed up for it, but haven’t yet sent the medical certificate saying I am fit to run :)
Is it not too late to do that?
Runner’s World (Jan. 2007, page 77) lists the Paris Marathon as one of six that a runner must try before dying. The others are Boston, London, Chicago, D.C. and New York.
The monster moniker is based on the number of runners. Paris, with 35,000 participants is one of the biggest but doesn’t beat Chi-Town with its 40,000 runners trying to make PR on the flat course.
I’m scared. I thought this would be a spring saunter around the Eiffel Tower with wine as a post-race treat.

I plan to start on a training plan in December.
There was a Med Student in with the Physician today. She said to me, “Oh I gave up running you know, theres just so much other exersise you should try some other exersise” Kindly Dr. B. sort of winked at me and we laughed. He is not a runner, but he knows me. As I was walking out I heard him start telling her….”just a tip, never tell a runner to stop running….”
I think she didn’t get me.
:)
I can’t wait until December! Hope I can manage the strict schedule along with the move….
WOndering still if we “have” to do Paris. I mean, wouldn’t something/somewhere else be a bit more funnner??
I’m not sure about anyone else out there, but one thing I do when starting something is “geek myself up.” I usually accomplish this by buying magazines, clothes, tools, etc…. then study up till I feel the “I’ve got it” sensation.
To that end, I purchased the book “The Non-Runner’s Marathon Trainer.”
Hey, it’s a start.
ofcourse after the london :)
this will be great
thanks trauma junkie!
...as I’m pretty sure I can no longer pass for a six-year-old.
Since the news today says that Canadian demand for passport renewal is at an all-time high, I figure if I get it done now I won’t be worrying about it during the winter/spring.
It’s on the TO DO list for next week.
