I used to take Spanish classes in high school and enjoyed it. But I’m thinking I may want to try something else for a change. My university offers French, German, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish for full credit. I’d like to at least get my feet wet in one of the first five. French would be useful, but Japanese would be really cool. (challenging as well).

Astar13 is rethinking her entire list!
I have always been back and forth between Spanish and French… Spanish being the most logical, and French being the most romantic. I have surprised even myself by taking Hebrew. I took my first class last week with a realization of why Israelis are so smart – there are no vowels in the aleph-bet (alphabet). 22 Consonants, and no vowels. This makes each word quasi-guess work. Apparently, you get to the point of recognizing words and knowing which vowels to use. I am wondering if I will ever get to this place…
Today I went to the Judaica shop and bought a few childrens books in Hebrew, to practice the aleph-bet. There are dots and dashes that represent the vowels that are supposed to be used in these books, so I figure it will be good practice for me.
So funny, Hebrew is neither logical nor romantic to me, but still fascinating and important. Who would’ve thought.
