When I moved house (about 15 months ago), I decided to get rid of me TV. I flogged it for £200 with my video and DVD player. I used the money to buy a cheap projector and screen off ebay. I now very rarely watch anything. I still like to put on a DVD sometimes, but I no longer watch things for the sake of it. Also, I’m saving money ‘cos I don’t have to pay for a TV licence. I definitely feel liberated. It’s amazing how oppressive TV becomes. One thing, be prepared for people to think that your wierd because you “Haven’t watched X-Factor last night” etc. Definitely worth it!
How to spend a month without television
"Stop watching TV!"
How I did it: I just didn't order cable for my new place. I didn't even notice that a month had gone by and actually went a year without TV. Then I got new roommates who wanted TV and it was done from there.
Lessons & tips: If you don't watch it, you won't die.

TV is such a total waste of time; I don’t think I would miss watching it but it’s a way to spend time with my wife.
