Practicing and sewing 3 years ago

I haven’t gotten to this one yet but I have been sewing. In fact I sewed a disillusions costume for Hangman’s Haunted House. It was a jumper that we added white squares to. The actors are in a room painted with black and white squares, flashing strobes, and angled walls and floors. The are practically invisible especially sense most people are watching the floor to see where to step next and not watching in front of them.

I have also been working in the actors area with costume fixing them when the come back torn. And this week I created sashes for the pirates.

I need to practice sewing straighter lines and understanding what stiches to use better but I’m started and will continue working towards this one.

    Renissance Faires 3 years ago

I attended my first Renissance Faire this year. The one in Waxahachie, TX, Scarborough Faire. Had a blast and met some new friends. I went each weekend, and oddly enough one of them i’m now dating. I now want to start practicing my sewing abilities and to create a costume that I can wear and not have to borrow any more. I did purchase a few things while I was down there but still need more and want to create some of them for myself. I’m thinking of creating a peasant skirt and blouse, a fairy costume, and possibly a maiden costume. We are attending TRF (my boyfriend runs shops at each of these shows) so I would like to have one completed by that time.
