I’m actively doing this, just listing it here to remind myself it’s really important that this gets done in a timely fashion.
How to redesign my blog
How I did it: I had two blogs - my food blog at www.thegooseberryfool.com and my travel blog at www.roamingtales.com. I decided to merge the two blogs, since there is quite a lot of crossover between travel and food.
I exported the gooseberry fool posts to www.roamingtales.com and then redirected the www.thegooseberryfool.com URL. Then I changed my theme and categories so I could have separate channels for food and travel displaying on the home page, as well as a category for professional articles.
Lessons & tips: Wordpress is very flexible and customisable but you do need a little technical know-how to do it myself.

I’ve recently redesigned my blog, it’s about the fifth or six redesign since 2001.
Rachael is feeling good
But I adjusted it to my liking :)
I switched themes on my blog and am a lot happier with it. I also tweaked the theme a bit to make links more obvious. You can see the results at http://www.benatkin.com/.
I don’t understand why all blogs default to A4 format. On my office machine there is plenty of screen width and on the home machine there’s also white space either side.
So I intend to tweek the format my several blogs so that they don’t have a load of wasted space.

Slowly but surely… reorganised the blogroll today and have started transferring pages into WordPress’s page CMS. Some mod_rewrite skillz have been necessary but it’s been surprisingly easy, all things considered
Took the plunge last night. First step – upgraded to WP 2.1. I also changed the skin to something minimalist and stark (whiteasmilk) which gives me incentive to fill it and add to it.
Currently reloading my blogroll (which hasn’t been updated in about 2 years) – but I still have a lot of crap to get through.
I’ve lived yhis whole year without blog. And I’ve not died! I must forget this goal and start other named “resurrect my blog” :P
