Been a father for a little over two years now and I have a lot to improve on period. I feel blessed but am constantly overwhelmed with outside factors in my life. This is my reality check to put my life in perspective and to focus on what matters most to me, my family.
How to be a better father
How I did it: I stopped working while my son was talking and looked at him directly, for a start. I also started working full time from home much to my work's dismay.
My adopted older son, I asked him to help me come up with a solution, because I had run out of ideas. He did, and now he's living with his grandparents.
My adopted daughter has reached out to me and we have a tentative relationship, though I internal distance myself from her chaotic lifestyle.
Lessons & tips: It's not all happy-happy-joy-joy. Some things can't be fixed. I found I could not break myself down enough to be the father the older son wanted, nor could I erase the history between us, we were doomed to repeat the past.
My youngest son is growing and accepts love and sees life differently than his older brother. We are both redeemed and hopeful for the future.

I’m a good interactive father; take my kids places, spend time with them and everything. I wish I was more patient with them though. I find myself just yelling and being angry when they don’t listen, but after 5 years of this the only thing it does is stress out me, my wife, and the kids.
I need to purchase a comforter and get her room ready before she comes. she’ll be here friday!
She’ll be here for about 11 days! Not very long, but any time is good time. She’ll be back in June, after school gets out.
