The roof is done and need to get a piece of vinyl for the floor and a doormade. I found a couple windows on craigslist. They are pretty large but might be fun. they would be almost from floor to ceiling in height and about 24 inches wide. they are a fixed window but would bring ina lot of light.. Not sure yet about that…
How to build a playhouse for my kids
How I did it: Years ago I was living in Vermont and all the neighborhood kids came to my yard to play. They often got into minor trouble because there was no purpose to their play. So I got each kid a little nail apron and some nails. Assigned a few hammers, some jobs and got a friend to frame up a little house. The kids all took turns hammering nails, holding boards, “supervising” (the favorite job!) and when it was finished they all played in it. I carpeted the loft floor with carpet sample a store gave me. It had one door and 3 windows (plexiglass). When we moved and couldn’t take the playhouse I “sold” it to the mom of one of the kids who helped build it for two handmade quilts. Each of my daughters had one on her bed for years, reminding them of the little house the neighborhood built. Though they no longer use these quilts, they have kept them and treasure them.
Lessons & tips: Don't hit your thumb with the hammer!
Resources: A friend framed it up for me and put on the roof.

mejaka is on the preferred substitute list--for Project. Weird.
but my husband surprised us all one day this summer when he suddenly decided that today was the day. And two days later we had a big, open, wonderful treehouse!
