I think I finally found a good general practitioner doctor. Originally, I went to this doctor I picked at random and the doctor told me that I wouldn’t be able to get a physical or blood work done until 3 months had passed. This seemed rather insane, since I’ve been worried about my health recently. I did, however, find a psychiatrist to go to who seems pretty good so far (she’s willing to listen and not wanting to change the medications that have worked for me over the years). The psychiatrist was able to recommend a therapist and also a general doctor, who happens to be her husband. I made an appointment with the doctor office and I got scheduled for blood work the day after. Today, I’ll find out the results and have a physical done. I’m feeling much more secure now that I have a doctor I can rely on.

I have an appointment for two weeks from now to meet the new doctor who just started working at my absolute favourite clinic in Yaletown.
I feel SUPER lucky on this one.
I had a group of physicians in tdot and i’m looking forward to just having one in an office with GREAT hours.
I’m psyched.
:)
Hope she is cool.

A person I met recommended this wonderful group of psychiatrists she’s been seeing, but with my new insurance the group does not accept my insurance. Since I can only afford doctors through my insurance company, my only option is select a doctor at random who is close to where I live. I’m going to make an appointment on Monday for sometime after August 15th, when I should receive my 1st paycheck from work. I’m on alot of meds and am eager to order my medications to see what my insurance will cover. I will probably just choose a general practitioner the same way; picking someone close by and go from there to get other specialists.

A person I met Friday recommended a very good specialist for me. I’m waiting till I start work this upcoming week before I make an appointment because that’s when my insurance begins. I’m also hoping they will take my insurance. Since I’m new to this state, I’m not too sure about what insurances are most common here.

New insurance

Thankfully I was able to find a new job with insurance benefits. I think I may have to just randomly find a primary doctor who can recommend specialists to me. I start work on 7/27 and will then contact the insurance company to get started.

Need to find a primary doctor as well as specialists which will be difficult to do since I’m new here.

I’m most likely going to be changing insurance when I get a new job, so I’ll wait until then.

Is that I’ve lived in this city for four years and haven’t ever needed to find a doctor. I have a gyno and a derm and a dentist, but no one to go to with my scratchy throat.
I hope it is just one of those things that will go away with pleanty of water and a couple good nights of sleep. But if it doesn’t then I have to go through the hassle of figuring out how my insurance works, finding a doctor that is accepting new patients, setting up my first appointment, going to the appointment and getting that lecture you get when you tell them you haven’t seen a GM in 7 years…. all while not feeling too well.
Even if I do get better tomrorrow I’ll try to find a doctor soon so that I don’t have to go through all that at some point in the future.

I might have found a guy who can help me with my issues. I had an appointment last week, and am getting some tests done next week. Here’s hoping…
