visit my Grama before i lose her

Just got back yesterday from the West Coast (well sort of!)
Spent 2 lovely weeks with my Grama in the high desert. She is doing good (better than i had expected at first), there are sometimes though, when she’s sees something that is not there or forgets names and things like that…but all in all she’s doing well.
Turns out (too) that those supposed TIAs she was having before might not be a TIA at all but an absense seizure. She’s going for an EEG and has an appt with a Neurologist this week. So if they are seizures…she’ll be put on medication and an end will be put to the bastardly things..quite scary they are.
But all in all…it was lovely to see her and sit with her and visit with her. It was sad to say “see you later”, but it was oh so nice to come back home.
I throughly enjoyed the trip!
BTW…the pic is the mountians right outside my Grama’s front door…beautiful..beautiful place….:)

for one i leave on Wednesday and will arrive in Cali on Friday afternoon….and for two…i have recieved 43 cheers for this goal!

SIX MORE DAYS!!!

this is where Grama lives…and where i will be come August 16th.

Less than a month away….so much to do….

Grama was sent to the hospital last week…had a TIA (small stroke)....they sent her home….a few days later she had another….was taken back to the hospital and while there had another TIA…my poor Grama…its going to be soo hard to see her. The woman use to be Miss Go Go Go! Didn’t like to just sit and do nothing, was always on the move. While visiting my family when i was a little girl…she go fed up on Sunday morning after spending the night…said she didn’t want to sit around and do nothing all day! Now shes feeling her 80 years and we are slowly losing her. I am looking forward to the trip, the train ride, the scenery, the desert, just being away from home. But it will be too hard to see her like this. But i must…i would regret so much not being able to see her before she forgets who I am…who we all are…how much I love her.

will accompany me on the trip. decided on the dates of travel AUG 17TH-SEPT 2ND. taking the train…2 days there…2 days back. Can’t wait to see the scenery, the mountains, the praires, the forests, the skies. We have decided not to buy our tix just yet…just in case…of…well…anything, but we ARE still going.
This trip is really planned to visit and spend time with my Grama. Don’t get me wrong, i love my Grama, but i’m thinking if i’m out there visiting and taking 2 weeks off of work, i’d like to see more….maybe hit the beach, San Fran, Big Bear…things like that. Will have to see how the money situation is and quite possible rent a car and drag my momma with me on an adventure or two!

so the manager approved my vacation request and i’m about to buy my ticket. so i shall be in Cali with gram at the end of August. :)

She lives in Cali and we are slowly losing her to Alzheimers and old age….its been more than 15 years since i’ve been to her house. And she’s getting to the point where she cant travel anymore. I’m off to see her in August if all goes well.
